It is always useful to know how many portions of cake you are likely to get out of a wedding cake, whether it is a separate cutting cake, part of the display cake or the whole thing. Traditionally the fruit cake is cut into finger portions 1″ x 1″, whilst the sponge cake portions tend to be larger 2″ x 1″.  If you are serving as the dessert you could either serve with ice cream, cream or fruit coulis.
